Training new

Welcome to Crossfit KURA! We offer strength and conditioning in the heart of downtown San Mateo. Our aim is to create a community that is focused on identifying  goals, coaching progress and creating long term change. Learn more about our  philosophy and how we’re different from other methods and gyms. We offer group CrossFit classes, private coaching, nutrition counseling and even a youth program. Here’s what Crossfit KURA has to offer you:

We are a closed-membership gym so we’ll want to meet with you first to discuss your needs and goals and see if CrossFit KURA is a good fit. CLICK HERE to get scheduled.

Want to get a taste of our unique and effective training style and see if it’s right for you?

Or just visiting the area and want to keep yourself going? Drop-ins are $30 per visit. All those with 6 months or more CrossFit experience are invited to drop in to a class.

Just click the Drop-in link below to reserve your spot in class.  Please note: Our philosophy is to create steady, sustained progress with our athletes so you are limited to 3 drop-ins before we’re going to encourage you to see real change by making a longer-term commitment to your health and fitness.

New to Training?

If you are just starting your fitness journey and would like to join our community, let's make it happen.

Prior to joining our Group Training sessions we require all athletes to participate in our Standards Program.

Simply put: we don’t throw people into the fire of our Group Classes just to fill our facility.  We take the time to properly assess your movement patterns and current fitness level and then create a training program to match.

One-on-one training assures that your needs, deficiencies and strengths are factored in to a customized plan that will help you reach your training goals.

Rapport and relationships matter. Surround yourself with those who are going to enrich your life, including a coach you love. We want to get to know you, your lifestyle, your fitness goals, and what you need from us to succeed.

Once new members are able to demonstrate proficiency in the basic movements, they are eligible to sign-up for a monthly group training membership. This generally requires 10 sessions for the average trainee. Our Standards program also includes mobility work to keep your body happy and healthy, a personal nutrition template designed for your body composition and performance goals, a customized training journal, and everything else you need for success.

Group Coaching

Group Coaching is the solution if you are looking for a supportive community that shares your desire to be stronger, healthier and happier. At a fraction of the price of personal training, it also allows you to work with a professional coach at a more affordable price.

Simply put, Group Coaching is designed to improve our athletes’ health and performance in a way that is most meaningful for their individual desires. Everyone walking in our doors has a vast range of personal goals and ability levels, so our group-coaching is flexibly designed to meet you wherever you are, regardless of experience, goals, age or fitness level.

Program Features

We have designed our Group Coaching program to value your time while still offering quality every single session.

All sessions are 75 minutes long.* This extended class structure allows for a complete warm-up, strength training and a conditioning component without sacrificing any of it. No cutting things short, no rushing out the door.

Our facility layout is designed to match these values. Personalized lifting stations assure that all athletes have the tools and space they need to focus on their workouts so they don’t waste time on transitions or equipment-searching. Your valuable time should be spent on training, not fighting for space on the pull-up bar!

Group Training is for veteran athletes that have been doing CrossFit for more than 6 months and would like to elevate their strength, skills and technique. In order to join the program, athletes must meet specific skill requirements and or have completed our Standards Program before joining a group class.

Group Members also have the option of utilizing Open Gym time before, after and during certain Group Training times to supplement their training, practice progressions given to them by their coach or work on new skills.

Our Group Training ranges from $205.00 to $350.00 per month. Please contact us with any questions – we’re here to help!
